If you just came across my blog but would love to hop along then start here at Misty's MB's Treasurista Blog

Now I want to share my project. For this months DT project I created an altered balsa box. The theme was love or valentines day so here it is:

I used a balsa box from Michaels as the base of my project. I painted it with a light teal color I created by mixing Americana paint in Bahama Blue & white.  I then cut out the paper from the My Minds Eye Love Me collection. I love this new collection. Super cute! I adhered it to the box using Mod Podge.  I lined the bottom of the box with the cream satin and organza trim from MB's Treasurista. Isn't that super cute?!? I also went around the top flap and the back of the box with the silver mesh bling. For the knob closure I cut out an image from the MME paper collection and covered it in glossy accents to give it a finished look.

For the top corner I used several I Am Roses flowers and a tulle spray and then used the light blue and clear acrylic flowers from MBT. The stick pin is a Maya Road Trinket Heart. Love those!

For this corner another I Am Roses flower and the pink acrylic flower spray from MBT along with several Recollections flowers.

Please be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs throughout the hop to increase your chances to win some nice blog candy. Misty is generously giving away a $20 gift card to here zibbet store! :)

Altered Tin Can Project

Hello There!!! As I noted in a post earlier this month I am working on re-organizing my craft room. I had a tin can that held my Martha Stewart Markers that I use rarely but still wanted to have them handy. I really just use them when I address boxes that I am mailing out. Well anywho, I wanted the can to look prettier than just a tin can. ;) I was surfing the web when I found THIS blog with a tin-can caddy that was gorgeous. I only have one can for now but I will go ahead and show you what I've created.

From Misty's Zibbet I used the clear acrylic flowers, the 1" organza butterfly and the silver mesh bling. You can in them all HERE. The paper flowers are from My Favorite Things.

MB's Treasurista DT Sign

Hello there. I wanted to share with you a sign I made for my YouTube videos for MB's Treasurista Design Team projects. When I film a video I tend to ramble on in the beginnings and this will give you something pretty to look at while listening.  It also shows my audience what company I am talking about in the video. I do hope you enjoy it!

So, how I made this was I took a 6X6 piece of plain chipboard and covered it using the Prima Madeline paper stack. I LOVE this paper! I then used the brown ruffled satin trim from MB's Treasurista and went around the edges of the chipboard. This trim is super YUMMY! On the bottom right had corner I used several items from my own personal collection along with items from Misty's shop. Down below is a close-up picture of the corner of the sign. In the center of the sign I printed MBT logo and distressed the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain. I went around the edges of the logo with the ever so amazing silver mesh bling. I really like the way this turned out. In the top corner of the logo I placed a small blue organza butterfly from MBT.

The corner close-up! I used two I Am Roses flower and two Recollections roses and those are the pink, blue and brown mulberry flowers. You will see on the top part of the arrangement there is a light pink acrylic flower spray and right below that is a 1" brown organza butterfly. To the right of the pink spray there is a teardrop pearl stickpin. I used a couple pearls and a bead spacer as well. there are also small clear and blue acrylic flowers within the arrangement. I cut off two of the green leaves from the green leaf trim and used them as added embellishment.

I am going to put all the different items used in the InLinkz tool below. You can then just click on the image you like and it will take you directly to the store front for that item.

Crafty Resolutions for the New Year

It's a new year. Time to reflect on the past year and prepare and plan for the new year.  Just a year ago I really got into paper crafting. On January 8, 2011 I started my YouTube channel Memories2Keepsakes . Today not even an entire year later I hit 300 subscribers! WOW! 300 people have thought to themselves "I will subscribe to this channel so I can watch these videos." That is just crazy and super exciting to me! I feel like I have grown so much as a creator this past year and look forward to learning more techniques and hopefully getting the opportunity to work with some amazing companies this year. Here are my resolutions for this new year as far as my crafting goes:

1. Create at least one video each week showcasing any new projects created, products purchased, and techniques I've learned.

2. Submit once a month to a publication call and try to get published at some point this year at least once.

3. Try out for a couple design teams to hopefully be able to work with some fantastic companies that I love.

4. Get super organized! I want to create a storage solution for my clear stamps, dies, scrap papers, and wood block stamps.

I look forward to what this year holds for me and I hope you will continue with me on my crafting journey! :)

Katie
