MB Treasurista's Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Hello and thank you for joining us for the MB's Treasurista Winter Wonderland  Blog Hop. I'm so happy you can join me in our first ever MB's Treasurista DT Exclusive blog hop! This is also the debut of the new Design Team. :)

There are some amazing ladies on this hop so please make sure you visit all the stops. You won't want to miss a thing. If you are coming from Lina at  Sweet Nothings Paper Co (http://sweetnothingspaperco.blogspot.com), you are right on track. If you just came across my blog and would like to hop along, please start over with Misty at  MB's Treasurista as she's our awesome hostess and owner. Ok now on to my project.....

I made an altered picture frame using Jillibean Soup Christmas collection called Christmas Eve Chowder. How adoradle are those penguins?!? I adhered the paper to the frame after I painted the back and sides with a turqouise paint from Folk Art. I then sanded and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain. If you look closely you will notice that I added both the clear and the blue diamond crystals to the centers of the snowflakes on the background. I love the look that little touch made.

I then cut out images from the paper collection to add some dimension to the bottom of the frame. I edged the inside of the frame with the brown Chinese braided trim. like the simple but elegant touch that added to the frame. At the bottom right hand corner of the frame I used a light blue button from my stash and tied the brown and white bakers twine that I received from Misty in a bow.

On the top right and corner of the actual framed area I was thinking outside the box with some of the items that Misty sent in the December DT package. She sent us several of the large acrylic flowers in different colors. I wanted to use the large ones but was not sure how I was going to incorporate them into my project. I started staring at it and the longer I did the more I wanted a snowflake. I die cut a snowflake from the Tim Holtz snowflake die used a glue pad and sprinkled extra fine pink glitter all over it. I then broke apart two of the large acrylic flowers and glued them to the back creating a very dimensional gorgeous snowflake and added the centerpiece from the flowers to finish it off.

On the lower left hand corner I added a couple I Am Roses that matched the paper collection. I then placed two of the clear and one pink mini acrylic flowers with stems into the other flowers. Behind the cluster of flowers I added an acrylic flower spray. Next to the Recollections small flowers I adhered a 1" organza butterfly in brown.

Wait i'm not done yet, I do have some blog candy...
