IAR Haunted Halloween Creative Contest Entry

Hello my crafty followers! I hope all of you have been every creative lately! I wanted to share with you my latest card creation. It is a Halloween themed card for the IAR Haunted Halloween Creative Contest. I made it as an entry into a contest on YouTube. I had to post my video as a video response to an I Am Roses video and it is open to be "LIKED" until October 14. The video with the most likes will will the October creative contest! If you would like to vote for my creation you can do so my liking THIS VIDEO!

Here is my creation:

I used the The Greeting Farm stamp "Jill" from the Creepin Kit 1. I just love how angry she looks! I also thought she and her expression went perfectly with the sentiment at the top of the card. The sentiment was from an older We R Memory Keepers collection called Heebie Jeebies! The paper in the background is also from that collection. I used orange, green, and purple core'dinations cardstock to layer the front of the card in two different loactions.

I colored Jill with Copis and applied orange and purple sitckles to her bow and eye shadow!

In the corner or the card I used I Am Roses flowers and an IAR skeleton leave to add a very pretty embellishment. The stick pin is handmade by me. I used a plastic skull bead from Michaels and added purple stickles to the eyes and used orange alcohol ink to make the top of the stickpin orange.  I added a black spray I purchased from a local craft store and added Recollections bling for a little bit of pretty.

I really love how this card turned out and I think it is super adorable. I am still trying to figure out the best place to start selling my cards. So until then I will just have this one sitting around. If you are interested in it just send me an e-mail @ memories2keepsakes@yahoo.com

XoXo,

Katie

Hi, just saw your comment on the distress ink towers on another blog, I'm pretty sure they came from Soroya, unfortunately she stopped making/selling them a while ago. I found some myself that are similar at "De Scrapheap", a dutch online store that was at a craft fair last weekend. I don't know if they ship worldwide though but you could try sending them an email.

I really like these so far, they're very sturdy. They're not that nicely finished though but the idea is to alter them to your liking anyway, I painted the outside with acrylic and covered it with some nice papers. Just one tip if you do get them, don't paint the inside. The pads fit very snuggly (The 4 oldest ones I had were a little higher than the rest and I had to sand them a bit to get them to slide in and out without struggling), if you add a layer of paint I'm pretty sure they wouldn't fit properly anymore.

I'll post pics of my finished ones on my blog soon.
